What the freekeh is freekeh?

This star grain on Masterchef last night is VERY good for us and tastes a bit like plant-based bacon don't you think?

Freekeh is so much more nutritious than white rice or regular wheat even and you can find a good recipe in the book pictured here, The Kitchen Prescription.

I’m sure I wasn’t the only person rushing down to my local health food store this morning to stock up on freekeh after watching Masterchef the Professionals, on BBC TV last night.
