Forget all those sugary/artificially-sweetened overpriced soft drinks this summer ...get into the habit of making this (it's as easy as boiling a kettle)
If you aren’t an alcohol drinker, or trying to cut down this summer, are you finding you’re bombarded with high-sugar alternatives?
So many commercial options these days from posh glass-bottled ice teas to “organic” colas can be problematic.
Eg if you are socialising, it’s easy to find yourself standing around for several hours drinking several bottles/cans which can add up to more sugar or artificial sweeteners than is healthy.
So recently I’ve been making an iced hibiscus infusion - which is high in polyphenols with antioxidant powers plus you get a fruity flavour without a fructose sugar or aspartame dump.
Suddenly if you’re sipping this…you’re doing something positive for your health and microbiome (gut bacteria) while you socialise. Win win.
